Day 1: We start with a taxi ride to the Rincon River, where we start kayaking w/ a ½ hour ride down river with the current. After crossing Rincon Bay we will hit some waterfalls that are only boat accessible, light rock climbing is possible here also. We have lunch on a deserted beach, and then paddle around the mysterious Mogos’ Islands (said to hold pirate treasure and Indian burial grounds), where we always stop to do a little exploring. We will land at "Paradise Beach" where we will sleep on a dock out on the water, or get rustic cabins on the beach. We have waterfalls to explore here also, and if time permits hiking through the forest. We have dinner on the dock, and then you have the choice of doing a night paddle to see the water light up with photoluminescence, or just enjoying the night sky before bed. Day 2: We start with a big breakfast before we head out Kayaking. We will be exploring the Esquinas River (largest mangrove estuary on the Gulf of Duce), looking for wildlife of all types (monkeys, raccoons, dolphins, rays, Jesus Christ lizards, butterflies, all types of birds, etc.). We have lunch on the beach before we paddle to Caña Blanca (for the standard trip you will be Camping on Caña Blanca Beach, and have dinner under a thatched roof). Here you will check into your cabin, and have the choice of hiking, swimming, or just relaxing at the lodge or in a hammock. We have dinner at the lodge, and then a night hike or paddle is possible. Day 3: After breakfast we will be kayaking to Dolphin Quest lodge, along the way we will stop to see some great waterfalls and a tour of a small botanical gardens, Casa Orquidia, is possible. We will have lunch at Dolphin Quest. After we get you settled into your room or get your tent set up we have the choice of hiking or more paddling (we can also arrange a horseback riding trip, scuba diving, or a massage). We have dinner at the lodge also. Day 4: We start kayaking at 5 a.m. (it is nice to leave early so you get a few hours of paddling in before the sun comes up) and have a light breakfast in the middle of the gulf. We will have a great view of the sunrise from the kayaks. The crossing usually takes 2 ½ -4 hours (depending on the tide, wind, and the group itself). We can also rent a water taxi for $34/person (this allows for a hike or paddle after breakfast). We dock the boats at the Puerto Jimenez Yacht Club, right by the pier. Price:
$550/person w/ Caña Blanca & Dolphin Quest Escondido
