Day Costa Rica Kayaking Adventure Itinerary Day 2: You have the choice of seeing a beautiful sunrise or sleeping in a little longer. We will have breakfast at the cabins before we start our second day of kayaking adventure. We will stop and explore waterfalls that are accessible only by boat. We will also get to do some snorkeling in the afternoon. We have lunch on a deserted beach. We will be kayaking around the mysterious Mogos Islands (said to hold Pirate treasure and Indian burial grounds), where we always stop to do a little exploring. We will land at Paradise Beach where we will sleep on a dock out on the water, or get a rustic cabin on the beach. We have waterfalls to explore here also, and hiking in the forest if the time permits. We have dinner on the dock, and then you have the choice of doing a night paddle to see the water light up with photoluminescence, or just enjoy the night sky before bed. Day 3: We start with a big breakfast before we head out kayaking. We will be exploring the Esquinas River (largest mangrove on the Gulf of Dulce), looking for wildlife of all types (monkeys, raccoons, dolphins, rays, Jesus Christ lizards, butterflies, birds, etc.). The other half of the day is spent at a private reserve that has some of the nicest waterfalls in the area. We will be staying at Paradise Beach again, and a night paddle is possible. Day 4: We have breakfast out on the dock and then head out kayaking, where we have nice snorkeling at little reefs along the way to Caña Blanca Lodge or Caña Blanca Beach. We will get you set up in your cabin or get the tents set up before lunch. After lunch we have the choice of hiking, paddling, or just relaxing. We have dinner at the Caña Blanca Lodge, and then a night hike or paddle is possible. Day
5: We start kayaking at 5 a.m. and have a
light breakfast in the middle of the gulf. We will have a great view of
the sunrise from the kayaks. The crossing usually takes
2 ½ -4 hours (depending on the tide, wind, and the group itself).
We can also rent a water taxi for $34/person (which allows a hike or kayak
after breakfast). We dock the boats at the Puerto Jimenez Yacht Club,
right by the pier. Escondido
